Four internationally recognized ensembles from Berlin – Ensemble Adapter, Sonar Quartett, Ensemble Apparat and ensemble mosaik – are cooperating to form a common orchestra: Ensemblekollektiv Berlin. This special constellation based on chamber music structures is not just unique for the Berlin cultural scene. The ensembles involved are each characterized by long-term experience, interpretations of the highest quality and clear profiles. These formations augment one another to create an orchestra with new musical possibilities.
The new collective establishes its profile with a selected repertoire as well as commissioned works (Hanna Eimermacher and Sarah Nemtsov) in three programs that address the formation’s specific constitution. The EnsemblekollektivBerlin will introduce itself to the public for the first time at MaerzMusik 2014, the Musikfest Berlin 2014 and the Festival Ultraschall 2015 under the direction of the renowned conductors Titus Engel, Enno Poppe and Peter Rundel.
The realization of the concerts at MaerzMusik, Musikfest Berlin and Festival Ultraschall will be made possible by a grant from the Hauptstadtkulturfonds.
